I graduated from Tsinghua University in Beijing in 1991 (B.Sc.) and from the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1993 (M.Sc.), specializing in instrumentation. I came to Canada shortly after and joined the Graduate Studies program at UBC in September 1995.
After 2 years of taking courses and doing research in UBC's Radar Remote Sensing Group in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, I passed my M.A.Sc. oral exam in October 1997. I am now a visitor at the The Center for Space Research at the University of Texas at Austin, continuing my research and looking for a job in industry.
My current research involves analyzing and optimizing SAR processing algorithms for satellite SAR burst-mode data. The goal is to develop a phase-preserving algorithm so that Radarsat or ENVISAT burst-mode data can be used in interferometric applications.
I am hoping to get a job at Motorola in Austin doing DSP applications development.
I like swimming, volleyball, and badminton. Besides, I love traveling, and hope one day to visit Africa and South America!
