This is a view of Mt. Everest taken from Kala Pattar. Ang Purbha, Sherpa, Jan van der Hoek and another sherpa.

The interesting aspect of this photo is that you can see the South Col, which is usually the last camp the climbers use on the conventional south-east ridge route up Mt. Everest. The South Col is the lowest point near the right of the photo.

I did not get this view, as I stayed in camp this afternoon, as I was very tired from getting up to the last camping spot. You cannot see the South Col from the camp. November 3, 1997.
