Photo #7 of 92 At the beginning of Day 3 (the 2nd trekking day), we leave the village of Shivalaya. We had camped in the open area just south (left) of the village.
The village consisted mainly of lodges and restaurants catering to the passing trekkers. However, most trekkers now fly directly to Lukla, leaving the lodegs with few customers. The lack of demand had lowered the price of supper and bed to about 10 rupees each (about 25 cents).
