The Qutb Minar is a soaring tower of victory, 15 Km south of New Delhi in the Mehrauli complex.
It is 73 m high, tapering from a 15m base to only 2.5m at the top.
There are 5 distinct storeys, each marked by a projecting balcony.
The first 3 storeys are of red sandstone, the fourth and fifth of marbel and sandstone.

I snuck away from the bus tour group to get a photo of the whole tower of the Qutb Minar in south Delhi, and I was immediately surrounded by school kids who wanted to shake hands, talk to me, and get their photo taken.
